Dear Friends in Christ,
On this Corpus Christi Sunday, God establishes the new and everlasting covenant, sealed by the most precious blood of His only begotten Son, ratified by the self-sacrificing love of Christ, and inscribed on our hearts by the power of His divine Spirit.
God loves us so much that He chose to remain with us in the humble appearance of bread and wine. Christ, in His infinite mercies, comes to us in His real and divine presence in the Most Blessed Sacrament, uniting Heaven and earth, uniting God and man, making His dwelling among us.
On this Feast of Corpus Christi, God invites us to witness and honor the power of His love in the Eucharistic celebration, a foretaste of Heaven. For, here we see God face to face, here we encounter the Living Bread that came down from heaven, here our worn-out soul is restored, here our wayward heart receives atonement as we seek the Lord's forgiveness, here the saving work of God continues to unfold.
In thanksgiving for such an amazing gift, let us heed God's call to renew our commitment to love and serve Him all throughout our lives. Let us ask God for the grace to be transformed into a living Eucharist, offering love and merciful kindness to our brethren through the Spirit of the Lord igniting our hearts. Until our Eucharistic King finally gathers all of us, children of God, in His Kingdom, singing endless praises as we celebrate His sacred banquet of love for all eternity.
Eternal blessings in Christ,
Rev. Jonathan Paala
"I am the living bread that came down from heaven,
says the Lord; whoever eats this bread will live forever." (John 6:51)
