Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, December 9, 2024 (A Holy Day of Obligation)

This year, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception will be celebrated on Monday, December 9. The solemnity is a Holy Day of Obligation for Catholics in the Archdiocese of San Francisco. Our Solemnity Masses at St. Luke Church will be at 8:30am and 6:00pm.  All are enjoined to celebrate the incomparable goodness and love of God in sending His Son through the privilege given to the Blessed Virgin Mary, preserving her free from sin.

O God, who by the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin prepared a worthy dwelling for your Son, grant, we pray, that, as you preserved her from every stain by virtue of the Death of your Son, which you foresaw, so, through her intercession, we, too, may be cleansed and admitted to your presence. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen. (Collect Prayer)
