Greetings from our Pastor on the Second Sunday of Lent
Dear Friends in Christ, On this Second Sunday of Lent, God our Father pours out His love from heaven.  From the cloud, His voice echoes forth the priceless love of His only begotten and beloved Son - with a command to listen to Him. God calls us to listen to His voice.  God calls us to silence the noise of the world around us and the noise within us.  God calls us to go into the depth of our hearts where we will find Him speaking to us.   Christ speaks to us through His sacrificial love on the Cross, a wellspring of hope and stren...

Greetings from Our Pastor on the First of Sunday Lent
Dear Friends in Christ, On this First Sunday of Lent, Christ assures us that He is indeed the fulfillment of the Kingdom of God.  He comes with the waters of baptism to cleanse us from our sins.  His most precious Blood flows forth, and we are ransomed from death.  Christ leads us to the victory of His Cross unto life everlasting. Even unto the end, Christ breathed His last as a sacrificial love offering for each one of us, so that we too might share in that mutual love between Him and the Father...

Ash Wednesday, 46 days before Easter Sunday, signals the beginning of the season of Lent and is a day of fasting and abstinence.  Our Ash Wednesday Mass at St. Luke's will be celebrated outdoors at 10:00am.  As we receive the ashes, we express our sorrow over our sins and ask for the grace to turn our hearts back to the Lord, who suffered, died and rose for our salvation. GUIDELINES ON THE DISTRIBUTION OF ASHES This year, instead of tracing a cross of ashes on the forehead, ashes will be distributed by the ancient custom of sprinkling over the crown of the head.  This practice is used exten...

Dear Friends in Christ, On this Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Christ comes to us as the wellspring of hope and the fountain of healing grace.  His promises stand true and His words remain forever, "I do will it.  Be made clean." Our Lord sees right through the leper's grievous suffering and how His heart must have been broken, hearing his desperate cries for help.   The leper's humble gesture of surrender moved Christ to stretch out His hand, touch and heal him.  Christ also longs to reach out to us in our moments of pa...

Dear Friends in Christ, On this Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Christ summons us to run to Him. His Heart is wide open to receive us. There we will find refuge and strength, a balm to our suffering, a wellspring of healing, a fountain of life, love and goodness.   As we are faced with all the seemingly insurmountable unfortunate events wrought by the pandemic and our societal woes, we might find ourselves resorting to temporary solutions or to those which only make us more confused and uncertain with fears and doubts.   With all these dilemmas, and espe...

ST. LUKE's FIRST FRIDAY OUTDOOR MASS in HONOR of the MOST SACRED HEART of JESUS February 5, 2021 (10:00 AM) Come let us adore and worship our Lord, whose Sacred Heart longs to pour out upon us His graces and gifts.   All are invited.
