On this 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time, we are consoled by Christ's words, “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
During this pandemic, the Lord asks us to surrender to Him all our burdens and find true rest in Him. Christ is delighted to offer Himself to us and shower the lightness of His love each time we celebrate His Eucharistic sacrifice either in St. Luke Church or at home.
Reminders for churchgoers:
1. Each time you attend Sunday Mass, you are required to fill out and sign a Consent Form. One person can do it for the whole household. Consent Forms are available at the entrance of the church. Please bring your own pens. Or, you can download and print the form (click here) and bring it to church when you come to Mass. This is for contact tracing purposes, as advised by the County Medical Officer.
2. In compliance with the much stricter mandate from the County Health Officer to observe proper ventilation and disinfection after each Mass, you are advised to occupy the seats in the community center.
3. Due to limited seating, you are required to sign up (click here) and indicate the number of people attending.
4. Please wear your face covering while in church. Please bring your personal sanitizers as well.
5. To protect the health of all, you are encouraged to receive Holy Communion, but with due reverence, in the hand. Those who will receive by the tongue will be last in the line.
6. Those receiving Holy Communion are to adhere to the 6ft distancing indicated by the yellow tape markers on the floor. After receiving communion, follow the arrow to go back to your places for prayer.
Thanks to the Lord's guiding hand and your ever faithful cooperation and support, we have been blessed with smooth-sailing and grace-filled weekend Masses.
We continue praying for one another, asking God's sovereign hand to take over this covid-19 crisis.
Wishing you all a safe and meaningful Independence Day weekend, dear friends at St. Luke!
In Christ,
Rev. Jonathan Paala
