Archbishop Cordileone encourages the faithful to attend the annual Chrism Mass which will be celebrated on Thursday, March 22nd, at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption at 5:30PM.
The Chrism Mass is a celebration of the whole Church of San Francisco, during which the Archbishop will bless the sacred oils, which will be used in sacramental celebrations in all of the parishes throughout the year. In this Mass, all the priests of the Archdiocese will renew before the Archbishop and the congregation their commitment and dedication to their priestly ministry. We extend this invitation to the Chrism Mass to all our parishioners, especially those who will be receiving the sacraments in which these holy oils will be used in the coming year, as well as their catechists and family members. We hope many of our parishioners will come to show their support and affirmation to their priests.
There will be NO exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and NO Benediction at the St. Luke Chapel. All the priests and deacons will be attending the Chrism Mass.
