Blessing of the Throats
In commemoration of the Feast of Saint Blaise (February 3), two candles are blessed, and pressed against the throat while a prayer of blessing is said. Legend has it that a mother brought to Saint Blaise her dying son who had a fishbone stuck in his throat and got miraculously healed. We will have the Blessing of the Throats at the 5:00p.m. Holy Mass on Saturday, February 2nd and all Holy Masses on Sunday, February 3rd.
“For this I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations, and sing praises to your name." 2 Samuel 22:50
