Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Upon waking each morning, what is the first thing which comes to mind, how do we begin each day? I trust that our day will begin with the Spirit of God refueling our souls and redirecting our lives towards the path to God's kingdom. I hope that marked with the sign of our faith and salvation, our prayer of thanksgiving and offering to the Lord will usher in us a day filled with God's wisdom to follow His will for us.
Like the disciples in this Sunday's gospel, we might be tempted to lose sight of God's will in our lives and end up grumbling when hard times befall us. We might be at the crossroads of life where we need to choose between the path of the world and the path of Christ, between a life of hopelessness and despair and the life of hope and peace in Christ.
If you feel that you are gradually drifting away from Christ's Spirit and life, immediately call out to God. God, who is alive in the Eucharist and the sacraments, will rescue you in your distress, He will deliver you from all your troubles, never will His love fail to bring you back to His embrace. And, be assured that Fr. Manuel and I are also available to listen and help, please feel free to approach us. Our hope is that we could minister to you and allow you to experience Jesus as the only Way, Truth, and Life, the Holy One of God, who alone has the words of eternal life. God alone can rekindle in us the Spirit's fire of love, so we can recommit ourselves to serve God, to follow Christ in our pilgrimage through this life, to the life promised to us in baptism unto life eternal.
With hopeful prayer that all of us in our St. Luke community will unite and proclaim, "as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord...forever."
God is love,
father Al
